Our Real Struggle

This week due to a lighter load of lesson preparation responsibilities I've been trying to catch up on some reading. Something I just read was powerful enough for me I wanted to attempt to put the thought into my own words because it speaks so profoundly to this journey of learning to live loved.

The problem that most of us are battling with is that we are struggling for the wrong thing. Even though many would vehemently deny this, the fact is that we think that we can earn Abba Father’s approval, and that trap is one of the most diabolical that keeps us from living daily in His love.

It seems to me that we must continually revisit in our minds the thought that we’re approved not by anything we can do, but by what He did for us on the cross. That's easier said than lived out in our daily experience. But the reality of living out what has been done for us means that in each moment, in each thought and in each experience we have on a daily basis that there’s a unique opportunity. There's the opportunity to live the thought that there's not one thing you can do to make Him love you any more today; and there’s not one thing you can do to make Him love you any less either. He just loves you for who and what you are right now. Now He may not love what you're doing but that never jeopardizes His love for who you are and what you are. Stop reading and just meditate on that one for a while. It blows me away.

The more we realize that, the more security we will have about everything.... mostly secure that He loves us individually, collectively and completely. And here's the cool part.... our security in that love is what will change us, not our struggle to try and earn His love.

The more we see that the more there will be unlocked for us thoughts, experiences and realizations that we have never considered before. Have a blessed day as we all participate on this beautiful journey of learning to live loved.
